A homogeneous population is one in which the individuals in the population have little or no population. E.g: In a population residing in an island where there is no migration of individuals into the island, all the individuals will be homogenous for a particular trait such as disease immunity. A heterogenous population is one in which a large degree of variation is seen in traits. E.g: a population in which individuals have all migrated from different regions will be heterogeneous with regard to traits such as disease immunity.
