Question

Explain how an opaque object can be made translucent and what are hot and cold sources of light?

Open in App
Solution

Cold light source: light source which is excited by chemical energy, electrical energy or bio-energy(firebuy, neon light LED and so on), cold light source features excellent optical and shining characteristics, if and object radiates with its temperature not getting higher than the environmental temperature.then it can be defined t obe cold light source.

Hot light source: lght source which is exited by thermal energy, for example, the incandescent lamp radiate from themal luminescence under temperature of 3000-4000K, the luminous efficiency of incandescent lamp is rather low with 80%-90% of the energy transformed ot thermal power and only around 10% convertedto potical power, the high temperature of the exterior shell of the light source, can’t be relied to distinguish a hot light source from cold light source, but can only be a proof of poor heat dispersion design.

transnslucent-Those objects from which things can be seen through but not so clearly is translucent.
Opaque-Those objects from which things cannot be seen through is opaque.
Please note that being opaque or transcluent are material properties. They cannot be changed.
