Explain how and when Himalayas were formed? (2 marks)

Himalayas are formed by the collision of the Indo-Australian plate and Eurasian plate. During the collision the edges of these plates folded and thus Himalayas were formed.

This collision happened 50 million years ago and hence the age of Himalayas is approximately 50 million years.
