Explain how division of labour amongst the tissues makes multi-cellular life possible.
A multicellular organism carries out a number of functions necessary for its survival during its lifetime. Different tissues make up an organ and various organs combine to form an organ system. Any one organ is not capable enough of carrying out all the functions simultaneously because it has become specialized to carry out a specific function only. Hence, there needs to be a division of labour in which all organ systems execute the various functions which when taken together help keep the organism alive.
