Explain how do you convert a moving coil galvanometer into an ammeter?

An ammeter should have a low resistance so that maximum current passes through it. Thus by adding a very low shunt resistance Rs in parallel to the galvanometer resistance G lowers down the overall resistance of the whole device and hence a galvanometer is converted into a an ammeter as shown in the above figure.
