Explain, how efficiency of irrigation can be increased.

The efficiency of irrigation can be increased by :

(i) Drip and spinker systerm - It increases the effici ency of irrigation as it sptays water through pipes and a spinker.

(ii) River lift system - It is usefull in those areas whe re canal flow is insufficient of irregular due to inade quate water release. The water is directly drawn fr om the rivers for supplement irrigation .
