  • Some of the events that helped in the suspension of democracy were:
    • The Fire Decree of 28th February 1933, which suspended the civic rights of the citizens indefinitely.
    • The Enabling Act of 3rd March 1933, which established a dictatorship in Germany. All political parties and trade unions were banned, except for the Nazi Party and its affiliates.
  • During the suspension of democracy, the following actions were taken by the Nazi Party:
    • Special surveillance and security forces were created to be at the disposal of the Nazis.
    • People were sent to torture chambers and concentration camps by these security forces without any legal procedures.
