Solution

The nervous system in humans consists of:

  1. Central nervous system (CNS)- the brain and the spinal cord
  2. Peripheral nervous system (PNS)- the nerves arising from the brain and the spinal cord
  3. Autonomic nervous system (ANS)- automatically without our control.

BRAIN:

  1. The human brain is the main control center of the nervous system.
  2. It controls our thinking, feelings, movements, and senses.
  3. The brain is situated within the skull and is enveloped by three membranes called meninges.

The three main parts of the brain:

  1. Cerebrum.
  2. Cerebellum.
  3. Medulla oblongata.

The peripheral nervous system transmits messages to and from the sense organs and is responsible for voluntary actions such as cycling, swimming, and so on.

Messages enter the spinal cord from all parts of the body and reach the brain, which sends back the messages to various body parts through the spinal cord.
