Classification of plants based on the type of stem are- Trees, Herbs and Shrubs.

• Tree: A plant having a woody main stem or trunk, ordinarily growing to a considerable height, and usually developing branches at some distance from the ground is a tree. Example: Mango tree. [1 mark]
• Herb: A plant whose stem is green and thin and generally dies at the end of each growing season is a herb. Example: Basil. [1 mark]
• Shrub: A shrub or bush is a small to medium-sized woody plant. It has persistent woody stems above the ground. Example: Rose plant. [1 mark]
