Plastics:

Plastics are synthetic polymer materials which have the ability to be moulded or shaped using heat or pressure.

Boons of plastic:

1. Plastic is used to make many materials which are used by humans.
2. Polythene bags are used to carry vegetables, fruits, clothes etc.

Problems caused by plastics:

1. Plastic bags thrown carelessly on roads which block the drains in cities. As a result, drains get choked and sewage water spills on the roads.
2. Stray animals feeding on garbage often eat plastic bags in search of food.
3. Burning of plastic bags causes environmental problems.
4. Using recycled plastic bags for keeping food items is harmful.
