Question

Explain how the eye adjusts itself when a person enters a dark cinema hall from bright sunshine.

Open in App
Solution

The aperture of the pupil in human eye controls the amount of light entering the eye. In bright sunshine the aperture becomes small in size, but when we enter a dark cinema hall, we cannot see the object because the amount of light entering the eye is not sufficient. So the aperture of the pupil gets enlarged to allow more light into the eye to enable us to see in the dark.
