Explain how the policies of Firoz Shah Tughlaq led to the weakening of the Delhi Sultanate.

Dear Student,

a. After the death of Muhammad Bun Tuglaq, Feroz shah tuglaq came to the throne, who could not really suppress growing dissent among the nobility.
b. He also could not win back the lost provinces.

c.Feroz shah tughlaq did some good construction work like constructing canals for irrigation ,he also established new towns Firozabad, Fatehabad, Jaunpur and Hissar​
d. He also encouraged learning and set up madrasas
e. He also tried to restore the faith of nobility by making
Iqtadari system​ hereditary but some of his acts made him unpopular.
f. ​Feroz shah Tughlaq was highly intolerant towards Hindus, he imposed Jizya tax on the Brahmins. As a result Hindus, turned against him.
g.. Feroz also destroyed Hindu temples and idols.

h. His intolerant attitude policies that made him unpopular among Hindus.
i. Thus, after his death, the sultanate declined.
