Solution

Transpiration:

  1. It is the process of water loss in the form of water vapor to the outer environment from the structures called stomata in the leaves of the plants.

(a) Effect of wind on transpiration:

  1. On a windy day, the speed of wind is fast, and the plants tend to lose more water.
  2. Therefore, wind causes an increase in the rate of transpiration.

(b) Effect of fog on transpiration:

  1. On a foggy day, the amount of water/ moisture/ humidity in the surrounding is high.
  2. This causes a decrease in the rate of transpiration.
