Open in App
Solution

Instructions:
  1. Explain the relative position of the Earth with respect to the Sun in a year
  2. Explain the consequent change in the sunshine
  3. Explain the change of seasons
Solution:

The sunlight falls at different parts of the Earth at different times of the year due to the revolution of the earth and the axial tilt of the earth.

This causes
  • Equinox on 22nd March
  • Summer solstice on 21st June
  • Equinox on 21st September
  • Winter solstice on 21st December
As a result of the apparent movement of the sun between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, the different seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter - get repeated in a cyclic manner.
