Explain how the soil texture of the forest soils varies according to the mountain environment

​​​​​​Soil texture varies according to mountain environment where they are formed. Soil is loamy and silty in valley sides whereas coarse grained in upper slopes. Soil is acidic with low humus content in snow covered areas of Himalayas. Soil found in lower parts of the valleys particularly on the river terraces and alluvial fans is fertile.
