Solution

The end products of the digestion move through the intestinal mucosa and get absorbed into the bloodstream by passive, active or facilitated transport mechanisms. The circulatory system helps in the transportation of digested food to different tissues and cells. The bloodstream derives from the digestive organs imports sugars, amino acids, glycerol, certain vitamins, and minerals to the liver. The function of the liver is the storage, processing, and detoxification of these substances. The liver further transports the nutrients to the remaining part of the human body, if required. The whole mechanism is
summerized as Absorption and Assimilation. The removal of water content from the digested food products and remainings of the indigestible food components are passed on to the large intestine, this phenomenon is termed as egestion.
