Dear student,

Here is the answer:

a) The ideology of the Liberals were:

The Liberals wanted to change the society. At this time European states usually discriminated in favour of one religion or another. But the Liberals wanted a nation which tolerated all religions. They were also against uncontrolled power of dynastic rulers.

They wanted to safeguard the rights of individuals against governments. They argued for a representative, elected parliamentary government, subject to laws interpreted by a well-trained judiciary that was independent of rulers and officials.

However, they did not believe in universal adult franchise. They wanted men of property mainly should have the vote. They also did not want the vote for women.

b) Socialism emerged in response to the extreme economic and social changes caused by the Industrial Revolution, and particularly the struggles of workers. Socialism means public ownership. Everybody has equal right to participate in the decision making of the country regarding how the global resources will be used and nobody would be able to take personal control of the resources. Karl Marx, the German political philosopher and economist was most influential socialist thinkers in history.

c) Under Capitalism the instruments and the means by which goods are produced are owned by private individuals and the production is carried out for making profit.
