Explain mechanism of sex-determination in birds.

Sex determination in birds is of ZW-ZZ types in which females are heteromorphic (ZW) and males have homomorphic sex chromosomes (ZZ). Heterogametic females produce two types of gametes: 1/2 with Z and 1/2 with W. Homogametic males produce all gametes having "Z" chromosome only.
