Question

Explain Quantisation of charge

Open in App
Solution

  1. The charge is always represented in the form of, q=n×e. Here n is an integer and e is the charge (- for electron and + for proton).
  2. The magnitude of e = 1.602192 ×1019 This is called quantization of charge. SI unit of charge is Coulomb (C).
  3. In other words, it says that the charge can only exist in nature in the form of the integral multiple of charge on one electron or proton.
