Open in App
Solution

Conduction of Electricity:

The substances conduct electricity through the movement of ions or charged particles. Thus, the substances that dissociate into their ions in a molten state or in an aqueous solution, are good conductors of electricity.

Cane sugar is Sucrose. Sucrose is a covalent compound and it does not dissociate into its ions when dissolved in water.

Hence, the Solution of Cane sugar does not conduct electricity due to the absence of free ions.
