Solution

Th plants that grow in watery places or the places which remain very wet throughout the year are called hydrophytes.
Hydrophytic adaptations are as follows:
1) The root system is smaller and holds the plant.
2) Stems are long, hollow, light and grow up to the surface of the water.
3) Leaves are mostly thin and ribbon-like.
4) Tissues usually have air spaces to keep the plants afloat.
5) Leaves are covered by a waxy layer which protects them from excessive water.
