Open in App
Solution

Asexual reproduction: It is the mode of reproduction by which new plants are produced without the help of any sexual organs.

  1. Asexual reproduction generates new plants that are clones or exact copies of the mother plant.
  2. Asexual reproduction occurs via various processes such as budding, fragmentation, vegetative propagation, and spore formation.

Budding: It is the mode of asexual reproduction, where the new plantlets are developed from an outgrowth, also called bud, in the mother plant body.

Vegetative Propagation: It is a type of reproduction in which new plants are produced from the vegetative parts of the plants, i.e. roots, stems or buds.

Fragmentation: This is a mode of asexual reproduction in which a new plant grows from a fragment of the parent plant. Each fragment develops into a mature, fully grown individual.
