Explain the classification of enzymes.

Enzymes are classified into six classes, which are as follows:
1) Oxidoreductase: These enzymes catalyse oxidation and reduction reactions.
2) Transferase: These enzymes catalyse the transfer of functional groups such as methyl or phosphate group.
3) Hydrolases: These enzymes catalyse the hydrolysis reactions.
4) Ligases: These enzymes catalyse the joining of two molecules by making a bond.
5) Isomerases: These class of enzymes bring about the isomerisation reaction
6) Lyases: Lyases brings about lysis and cleavage of various bonds.
