The least amount of energy required to activate atoms or molecules to a state in which they can undergo a chemical reaction is called activation energy.
The minimum extra amount of energyabsorbed by the reactant molecules so that their energy becomes equal to threshold value is called activation energy. In other words, activation energy is the difference between the threshold energy and the averageenergy of the reactant molecules
