Question

Explain the denseness property of Rational number

Open in App
Solution

Density property

In simple terms, it states that given any two real numbers 'a’ and 'b’ with a < b, there exists a rational number 'r' such that a < r < b. From the above it follows that between 'a’ and 'b’ there are infinitely many distinct rational numbers

We can always find another real number
that lies between any two real numbers.

ie:
...0-1-2-3-4

...(1)-(1.5)-(2)...

...(1.5)-(1.75)-(2)
and so on

hope you understand
