Effect on environment:
Thermocol being a non-biodegradable substance takes a very long time to degrade naturally in the environment. Hence many people opt for destroying it by burning. However, it is still more hazardous method as it releases poisonous gases in atmosphere.
Effect on human health:
Thermocol adversely affects the health of the workers working in the thermocol manufacturing units. The workers working for a prolonged period complain of eyes, skin, and respiratory tract irritations and as well as gastrointestinal complications.
