Instructions:
Mention the erosional and depositional landforms.
Explain them.
Solution:
Erosional landforms of glaciers are U- shaped valley, tarn lake, cirque, horn, and arete.
U- shaped valley: Glaciers collect and drag large rocks and other materials across the land, leaving scratches and large depressions in the ground that finally turns into a valley.
Tarn lake: When the glaciers melt, they fill the depression with the melted glacier water, creating a tarn lake.
Cirque: A half-bowl shape along the side of a mountain carved out by the base of a glacier
Horn: The pointed peak that forms when several cirques join together
Arete: When two neighbouring glaciers erode on opposite sides of a rock, making a sharp knife-like edge
The depositional landform of glaciers are moraines they are:
Rocks, boulders, and other materials deposited in one area after being moved along with a glacier.
