Explain the features of services.

The features of services are as follows:

(i) Intangibility: Services are intangible as they cannot be seen or touched.They are abstract and invisible.

(ii) Perishability: Services cannot be stored for future use.e.g. if a bus has 10 vacant seats now,these cannot be utilised in future.

(iii) Inseparability: Services are produced and consumed at the same time.The service cannot be separated from the provider.

(iv) Variability: Services are not standardised and uniform,and differ from one service provider to another.
E.g.:the type of service, which a waiter provides in a hotel may not always be the same.
