Open in App
Solution

The hepatic portal system refers to the movement of blood to the liver from the gastrovascular glands. The blood from the intestine stomach is taken to the liver for filteration before reaching the heart. The liver is responsible for cleaning the blood and sending the detoxic blood through the inferior vena cava back to the heart.
