Solution

TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone):

  1. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, also known as thyrotropin or thyrotropin, is secreted and released by the pituitary gland into the bloodstream.
  2. It is a hormone that controls the function of other hormones.
  3. It controls the production of the thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), by the thyroid gland through binding to receptors on the cells of the thyroid gland.
  4. T3 and T4 have a negative effect on the pituitary gland and stop the production of TSH if their levels are too high and they also turn off the production of a hormone called thyrotropin-releasing hormone.
