Solution

  • Saturated solution A saturated solution is a chemical solution containing the maximum concentration of a solute dissolved in the solvent. In a saturated solution, the additional solute will not dissolve.
E.g.- Carbonated water is saturated with carbon, hence it gives off carbon through bubbles.
  • Pure substance A pure substance is a sample of matter with both definite and constant composition with distinct chemical properties. In chemistry, it is referred as chemical substance.
E.g.- Tin, sulphur, etc.
  • Colloid A colloid is a mixture in which one substance of microscopically dispersed insoluble particles is suspended throughout another substance.
E.g.- Whipped cream
  • Suspension A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture of two or more substances. The particles of the solute do not dissolve in the solution and are rather suspended throughout the solution in bulk and can be easily seen by naked eyes.
E.g.- Muddy water
