Alloys belongs to the homogeneous type of mixtures.

  • It can be a combination of two or more metals or metals and nonmetal, which showcases increased strength, durability, etc.
  • Brass is an alloy of 66% copper and 34% zinc.
  • Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon (2%)

Uses of alloys:

  • Steel is used for making ships, engines, weapons etc.
  • Brass is used for making the electric switches, ornaments, etc.
  • Bronze is used for making plates, glasses.
