Context: The poet highlights the cruelties of war.
Explanation: The poet killed the other guy in the battle field just because he was a soldier of enemy country. Though both did not have any personal enmity, the poet was complied by duty to kill him. Otherwise the other soldier would have shot him dead. He could not state any other reason.
