Pyrex glass: It is a heat resistant variety of glass.

Uses: It is used to manufacture equipment for laboratories and utensils meant for use in ovens and microwaves.

• This is due to the ability of pyrex glass to withstand high temperature.
• It is made up of a material called borosilicate which does not break when subjected to abrupt temperature changes whereas ordinary glass is made up of material called silicates which can easily crack or break on sudden temperature change.
