Question
Explain the formation of anticyclones.

Solution
Instructions:
Explain pressure system
Deflection of winds by coriolis force
Direction of rotation
Solution:
An anticyclone is formed when a high-pressure region is surrounded by low pressure areas.
This high pressure is formed because of lower temperatures compared to adjoining areas.
So now the winds blow outward from the high pressure zone towards the low pressure area and the winds get deflected because of coriolis force.
This leads to the formation of anticyclones.
The direction of rotation of anticyclones is clockwise in the northern hemisphere and anticlockwise in the southern hemisphere.
