Explain the formation of ozone in the atmosphere.

Ozone , O3 , contain 3 atoms of oxygen, it is deadly poisnous for animals, but in the upper layer of atmosphere, it act as a shield by protecting us from UV (ultravoilet) rays which comes from sun. these rays can cause disease like skin-cancer.

FORMATION OF OZONE:

When oxygen reaches the uppermost layer of atmosphere , it reacts with UV rays which split it into free-oxygen atom, then these single oxygen atom combine with O2 to form ozone
