Digester in biogas plant is a huge tank in which slurry is fed through inlet chamber. When the digester is partially filled with slurry, it is left unused for two months. During this time, anaerobic fermentation takes place inside the digester and as a result biogas is formed which gets collected in the dome of the digester.
Two main components of biogas are:
1. Methane (CH4)
2. Hydrogen (H2).
