The Supreme Court is the top judicial body and is known as the guardian of the Constitution.
The Supreme court is responsible to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens. So any case involving the violation of fundamental rights is readily taken up by the Supreme court.
Any dispute between the government and the citizens is taken care of by the Supreme Court. It also resolves the disputes between two states or between a state government and the central government.
It also deals with cases involving the elections of the president and the vice-president of India.
