Question

Explain the impact of removal of thymus gland on the immune system of a human body?

Open in App
Solution

If thymus gland is removed in adulthood, it does not affect much on the immune system; however, if it is removed in the childhood, the body would be immunodeficient as there would be no way out to fight against the infection since it is the main gland that produces antibodies in the early life of a person.
