Natural resources:
Natural resources are such resources that occur naturally and cannot be man-made.
Natural resources are utilized by humans for various purposes with a few modifications.
Air, water, soil, metals, fuels, forests, and all such things are included in natural resources.
Types of natural resources:
Renewable resources - Such resources are available in ample amounts and will not exhaust on being used. It includes wind, solar energy, soil, etc.
Non-renewable resources - These resources are present in limited quantity and these might get depleted easily if we do not use them judiciously. Examples of such resources are fossil fuels, minerals, water, etc.
Conservation of natural resources:
Conservation of natural resources is very important because these resources are being depleted very rapidly.
Depletion of natural resources has ill effects on the environment which in turn harms human life.
Pollution, Population, increased urbanization and industrialization altogether cause major harm to the natural resources.
Non-renewable natural resources such as fossil fuels (coal, petroleum, etc.) are being exhausted at a very faster rate, once they will get depleted, it will take thousands of years for them to get renewed.
Thus, the conservation of natural resources is very important.
Ways to conserve natural resources are:-
Using public transport and preferring walking or cycling for short distances.
By avoiding the use of plastic bags or plastic materials.
Utilizing kitchen waste as manure in place of fertilizers.
Minimizing the use of fuels such as coal, petrol, etc.
Conservation of energy at home, (water, electricity).
