Open in App
Solution

The excess of labour in cities affected the lives of the workers especially in rural areas. They came to cities in search of jobs. Most of them could not find suitable jobs and waited for weeks to get jobs. They spend their nights under bridges or in casual wards or refuges maintained by Poor Law authorities. Most of the workers got seasonal jobs and had to remain jobless most of the time. The wages earned by the labourers were very meagre which made them poorer.
