The main sources of water pollution are as follows

Domestic Sewage;

• The wastewater discharge from our home contains dirt from clothing the tensile excreta flush down the toilet is called sewage.
• This sewage is normal discharge into water bodies like a river this domestic sewage include harmful microorganism.

Industrial waste

• The wastewater from industry discharged into the river causes water pollution called industrial effluents
• These effluents contain poisonous substances which water unfit for drinking.

Agricultural waste

• The fertilizers and the pesticide used by the farmers washed out with rain in the river
• This increases the concentration of nitrates and phosphates in water which utilize by algae for their growth as they grow further used oxygen for their growth which make a deficiency of oxygen for an aquatic animal this phenomenon is called eutrophication.
• Agricultural waste contains harmful chemical pollutants that cause water.
