Solution

Matter- Matter is anything that occupies space and has mass.

  • Air, water, and a wood block are examples of matter.

Kinetic molecular theory of matter-

  • Matter consists of a large number of small particles, i.e., atoms or molecules.
  • The particles of matter are in continuous and random motion and have kinetic energy.
  • If heat energy is provided to matter, its particles move faster, i.e., the kinetic energy of particles increases.
  • If the distance between the particles of matter increases, the force of attraction decreases.

Kinetic energy- Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its motion.
