Explain the malleability of metals.

Malleability is the physical property of metals by which they can be shaped into thin sheets without cracking.

1. Metals such as silver $\left(\mathrm{Ag}\right)$, iron $\left(\mathrm{Fe}\right)$, copper $\left(\mathrm{Cu}\right)$, etc. expand when hammered and pressed.
2. Aluminium is very malleable and that is why we use it as aluminium foil to wrap our food.
