Open in App
Solution

Instructions:
  • Explain how the closeness to oceans and seas affect the temperature of a region.
  • Give a suitable example
Solution:
  • A region, which is closer to the sea, will have neither too hot, nor too cold climate.
  • However, if the region is farther from the sea, the region will experience extreme weather conditions- that is, very hot summers and very cold winters.
  • This is called the moderating effect of oceans and seas.
  • In India, places like Mumbai experiences moderate climate because it is situated close to the sea… while places like Delhi experiences extreme climate because it is very far away from the sea.
