1. The image formed is upright.
2. The size of the object is equal to the size of the image.
3. The image formed is a laterally inverted image i.e, the left side of the object's image is actually the right side of the object.
4. The distance of the image formed from the mirror is equal to the distance between the mirror and the object placed in front of it.
5. The focus of a plane mirror is at infinity.

Uses of a plane mirror:

1. They are used in constructing periscope which is used in submarines.
2. They are used to make various scientific instruments.

Hence, an image formed by a plane mirror is always virtual and erect.
