Solution
Nipah virus is a virus which is transmitted from animals to humans.
It is transmitted when it comes in direct contact with infected bats, infected pigs or infected people.
Recent causes of transmission are when people consumed fruits bit by infected fruit bats.
The exact pathway of the virus is still unknown and a matter of research.
The virus reaches the central nervous system via nasal epithelium to olfactory neuron.
The virus replicates in the cells of the brain using host cell machinery and finally cause encephalitis.
Entry of Nipah virus into the CNS occurs rapidly, within 4 days of inoculation.
