The physiographic divisions of Karnataka are:
  1. The Coastal Plains
  2. The Malnad Region
  3. The Maidan Region
The coastal plain in Karnataka lies between the Arabian sea and the Malnad Region.​ Its Width is 12 – 64 km​, Height -200 m​. They are also called Canara, i.e., Karnataka Coastline​. The rivers form estuaries over deltas in this region​.

The Western Ghats form the Malnad region. They are also called the Sahyadri.​
There length is 650 km​, Width - 50 - 76 km.​And height is 900 to 1500 m​.

Maidan region is located East of the Malnad region.​ Its Height is Approx. 450 m to 760 m​. Irrigated by Tungabhadra, Kaveri and Krishna.
