Solution
Asexual reproduction is the process of formation of new individuals from specialized or unspecialized parts of a single parent without fertilization or fusion of gametes. Because of the formation of new organisms from one parent, asexual reproduction is also called uni-parental reproduction. It is commonly found in unicellular organisms, plants, and lower animals like sponges, hydra etc. Some common modes of asexual reproduction are fission, budding, fragmentation, regeneration, spore-formation, and vegetative reproduction.
