Solution

The root system of a plant constitute the roots and the root hair. The root hair absorbs water from the soil which by diffusion is carried to the root. The roots consist of the cortex protected by the epiblema and centrally placed vascular bundle, the water entering the cortex reaches the xylem vessel by active transportation thus the water from the soil is transported to the various parts of the plants through the xylem vessels.
